Eternal Love - Original
"Love is from the infinite and will remain until eternity," Rumi.
The ultimate symbol of love, the Taj Mahal. One cannot do the master craftsmanship justice however the beauty is inspiring and heart lifting. Whichever angle I look at and detail I see, the marble, inlay and arches fill me with wonder and admiration.
The Mughal era was a rich period in the history of Northern India and present day Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. A combination of Indian and Persian styles were amalgamated to produce a unique style of architecture, literature, Art and even language. The beauty produced and appreciated during this time deeply inspires me on a personal level, a part of my heritage I am fascinated with.
The architecture from this period had a delicate elegance to it and was epitomised by majestic domes and arches, decorative lattice screens, and inlaid floral motifs. Exquisite gardens laid out in the Charbagh, or quadrilateral style, divided by streams of running water and tulip shaped fountains in lakes remain as a reminder of this bygone, majestic era.
